Was Göbekli Tepe Really Intentionally and Ritually Buried?

A few months ago I made a video about four common misconceptions about Göbekli Tepe, but in hindsight, it would have probably been a better idea to make four smaller videos because I keep reading the same comments over and over again regarding the buried nature of the Pre-Pottery Neolithic archaeological site.

So, in this video, I’m taking a more focussed look at the claim that Göbekli Tepe was intentionally and ritually filled in and buried around 10,000 years ago, after around 1,600 years of habitation.

Before the site was first excavated in the 1990s, Göbekli Tepe was a giant mound, made up of man-made archaeological deposits and the fills of the circular enclosures certainly gave the impression of unnatural filling.

So what's the story about the end of the circular enclosures at Göbekli Tepe?

Watch the video to find out.
