On Tuesday, SpaceX launched Spectro-Photometer for the History of the Universe, Epoch of Reionization and Ices Explorer (SPHEREx), NASA's newest telescope, into orbit from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
It's set to perform the first all-sky survey of its kind, a sweeping look at hundreds of millions of galaxies and their shared cosmic glow since the beginning of time.
