Eleven ‘New’ Ancient Sites discovered around Göbekli Tepe

According to news reports, Turkish archaeologists have discovered the locations of 11 new sites of interest close to the enigmatic Göbekli Tepe.

The 11 sites, each of which is a large hill, are said to be on a 100-kilometre line around Gobekli Tepe, which probably means they are all within a 50-kilometre radius of he famous megalithic site and according to the Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister, the area is now being re-named ‘12 Tepe’, meaning '12 Hills'.

Although details about the new sites have not been released, they have been explored and a major study has been completed. Findings will be presented to the world in September this year and I for one can’t wait. Watch the video to find out what we know at this stage!
