May 1960, the largest earthquake ever recorded disrupts the west coast of South America.
I've lived my entire life in iquique, earthquakes are common for us here, but in 2014 we got hit by the most powerful in a long time, maybe in recorded history in the region.
The earthquake was 8.4 in magnitude, although not as powerful as the Valdivia one, it made the ground roar so loud that I thought that earth was splitting in half, this for around 2 minutes, after the earthquake the ground continued to emit a deep sound, like a volcano for maybe a month or more, the first days it was so loud that I couldn't even sleep inside my house. Surely earthquakes are one of the scariest things in this world.
